The Californian lined up in the girls championship race and was the only eighth-grader in the field. Engelhardt hung on tight with the leaders and put in a major kick the last 400m. • As she came down the home stretch she made an extra push to come across the finish line in second. Most importantly, the FAT clock stopped at 4:40.16 and that mark officially broke Decker's hand-timed 4:40.1 record from nearly five decades ago. • Englehardt shaved four seconds from a week ago when she competed at the Music City Track Carnival in 4:44.40. • Website: http://flosports.link/3p20lTj • Subscribe: http://flosports.link/3p4YLQp • Get the FloSports iOS app: http://bit.ly/FloTrackiOSApp_9 • Follow FloTrack • Facebook: / flotrack • Twitter: / flotrack • Instagram: / flotrack
