A small child fell down a deep well in the city and despite the best efforts of rescue personnel and professional equipment, saving the child was proving to be a much more difficult task than expected. A 14-year-old boy named Cristian Marian Becheanu stepped up to the plate. • Following the incident, Cristian was soon nicknamed the “Hero of Segarcea.” His story became known nationwide and he became more of a national hero.
