Anger simmers in parts of Gujarat after seven members of the Dalit community attempted suicide yesterday (July 18) to protest the brutal assault on fellow community members for allegedly killing a cow at Una last week. Massive protests have erupted in the state against atrocities on the community. The incident at Una, where Dalit youths were paraded and flogged for allegedly killing a cow, caused nation-wide outrage after its video went viral.
