Especially the famous street marches are an important part of brass band music. • 🗯️ What actually is marching music? • 👉 The term march comes from the Latin word marcare and means, in the broadest sense, to stamp or to step firmly . A march is a piece of music that is intended to facilitate walking or marching in step through its usually straight two-part beat. March music is one of the most important pieces of music, especially in military music. • 🗯️ What is the time signature of marching music? • The most common time signatures are 2/2, 4/4 or 6/8.
