This is the soundtrack to the final film in Dario Argento's so called Animal Trilogy , called Four Flies On Grey Velvet. • Often a very overlooked film in Argento's cannon, the plot centres around a rock drummer who murders someone, while a mysterious figure in a creepy mask, witnesses the murder and photographs it to incriminate, and blackmail him, while he has to find out why. • Its trippy, psychedelic approach was the first steps into Argento establishing his own style, and moving away from his Hitchcock homages of Bird With The Crystal Plumage, and Cat O Nine Tails, as well as being a transitional bridge to Deep Red. • The soundtrack itself has that late 1960's Cream power trio, late psychedelic, rock with tinges of early prog rock, which was very popular in Italy at that particular time, contrasted with atmospheric drum, church choir compositions, done beautifully by Ennio Morricone. • #DarioArgento #FourFliesOnGreyVelvet
