Using the Fiskars Weeder

After buying the Fiskars PowerGear® Bypass Lopper and seeing the quality that went into those I was intrigued by other products there. We had borrowed the loppers before buying our own, but watching the Three Claw Weeder I knew that was next on my list! My local True Value store where I purchased my loppers said they didn't have them but the owner, Tori Lockwood, said she'd look and see if she could order one. To her surprise they had just recently been added to her catalog and she placed the order. I actually bought it for my wife who, with her friends from church, has a 'weeding' ministry- going to homes of the elderly and disabled, and weeding their lawns. I told her she'd be the envy of her group with this as they all had been using the old fashioned 'fork' weeders, down on all four roaming around the yard. Now she's off her knees, no more dirty hands and pants- she LOVES it! And it gets the weeds, roots and all! • A few weeding tips. No matter what tool you're using, start in spring before the weeds go to seed as each weed will through off hundreds of seeds and those seeds can stay dormant for years. Plus, in spring, the ground is softer, making weeding much easier. If you must weed during a dry spell be sure to do it after watering the lawn so the the ground is not hard.
