Originated as Warriors Films Company (奮鬥影業公司), the trio - Karl Maka (麥嘉), Dean Shek (石天) and Raymond Wong (黃百鳴) - made Cinema City (新藝城) probably the most successful independent film company in the 80s, challenging local studios like Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest. Attempts of reviving CC after its demise in early 90s weren't successful, leaving only some spin-offs like Cinema City Enterprises (新藝城企業) / Cinema Capital Entertainment (新藝都娛樂) by Maka and Cinema City Entertainment (新藝城娛樂) by Shek.
