McWane Ductile's Finishing Line encompasses everything from the oven to the Bundling table. Including the Hydrostatic test, the inspector station, and the physical properties lab. • After exiting the oven samples are taken to be tested in the lab. Next they enter a grinding station. The pipe come down the line in a completely random order. Robots can see the size of the pipe and type of bell. They run the correct program to grind off any burrs left over from the casting process. After the robots some of the pipe may need a little help from a human to ensure the bell sockets are smooth. This grinding is cosmetic and not for changing the dimensions of the bell. • After pipe pass the hydrostatic test, and inspector station a transfer car moves them to their next destination.
