The TINTIN MANSION Marlinspike Hall – Chateau de Cheverny Ep 25

It was strange to visit this chateau for the first time, yet feel like I knew it intimately. I grew up on Tintin books so I had seen this house hundreds of times. • Hergé copied the mansion (with some minor modifications – he took off the two outer ends) and made it Marlinspike Hall, the mansion Captain Haddock buys in The Secret of the Unicorn. It’s incredibly beautiful and has been owned by the same family for around 600 years! They still live in part of the house. • The gardens are sprawling and peaceful, and there’s even a dog kennel with 120 hounds.
