In this After Effects Tutorial, I'll show you how to animate frame by frame inside of After Effects. • Usually you would do stuff like that in Rough Animator, Photoshop or Procreate. • But there’s a simple trick, that makes it much easier • First of all, we add an adjustment layer and Posterize Time because frame by frame animation is usually done with 12 fps. • Next we add a new shape with a simple ellipse. We set a path keyframe and move the shape... • The problem in After Effects is, you can’t really see your last step. You’re basically blind. • You could go back and forth, but that’s really annoying. • The solution: CC Wide time! • CC Wide time looks one step back and blends it into the current frame. Awesome right? • That makes frame by frame animation in After Effects easy. • We animate the drop. And really helpful is... We see the last step. • After animating the main shape, we need to add some more detail shapes, like splashes. • Finally we glam the drop up and add two layer styles. Bevel and emboss and inner shadow. • So I guess, CC Wide time isn’t a perfect solution - as After Effects isn’t specially made for frame by frame animation, but it should be alright for some easy and simple shapes. • I use it quite a lot. • ► I use music from Artlist: https://artlist.io • If you have any further questions, let me know in the comments below.
