The 2016 presidential election cycle featured former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, and businessman Donald Trump, the Republican nominee. The vice presidential debate was between Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, a Democrat, and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, a Republican. • The vice presidential debate was a 90-minute discussion broken up into nine 10-minute segments, on a variety of topics.
