An explanation of how steganography works, and a demonstration of the Least Significant Bit Replacement algorithm in python for: • Embedding a message into a digital image • Extracting a message from a digital image (reversing the encoding process) • Using the data concealment method above, one can hide messages (secrets) in images, and use those cover image to communicate in plain sight. One can not just embed text in images, but embed maps, images, audio, video, executable code, snooping / keystroke loggers, just about anything that one can represent in binary (which is everything?).
