I decided to try out a couple of antenna options for my Midland MXT115 GMRS MicoMobile. I'm using Midland's trunk mount which also works with most hoods. So its better than a magnetic mount but not a 'permanent' mount that would leave a hole if that's a concern. I just like the ease of install. Both antennas worked great considering the lower mounting location and terrain.
