Hi everyone - this video clip is from “Counterplan” (in Russian: Встречный, romanized: Vstrechnoy), a 1932 Soviet film directed by Sergei Yutkevich and Fridrikh Ermler. The film's title-song called The Song about Oncoming , composed by Dmitri Shostakovich, with lyrics by the poet Boris Kornilov, became world famous and was adapted into Au-devant de la vie , a notable song of the French socialist movement of the 1930s. The same theme can be found before in Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka and Sergei Taneyev’s first symphony.
