Linux Basix Commands. Session 1 • Pwd: which location you are exactly. • Ls -lt: to display files in the current location • Ls -ltr: reverse sorting • Ls -lh : human readable fomat • Clear: to clear the terminal or cntrl + L • Cat filename: to read the file • Touch filename-- to create the new file. • Rm filename– to remove the file. • Vi filename: Create a new file for editing then I for insert, esc to exit the editor. • :wq • Save and quit • :w • Save • :q • Quit • :w fname • Save as fname • ZZ • Save and quit • :q! • Quit discarding changes made • :w! • Save (and write to non-writable file) • Shift+: wq to save the file save and exit • Mkdir newfolder – will create new directory. • Rmdir – to remove the directory rm filename rm -rf filename • cd.. – to return back to previous folder • cd filename-- to go to filename directly • https://bellard.org/jslinux/
