In this video, I take on a unique challenge presented by one of the lead veterinarians at our local veterinary hospital. The task was to create a low profile hospital plate for a horse that had developed an infection in one of its front feet. This required debridement and treatment with medicated maggots to thoroughly clean the infection. The goal was to enable the horse to continue its rehabilitation program for a hind leg injury it was previously recovering from. • Although I didn't record the entire process of building and fitting the shoe, I did capture several pictures and a video of the maggots at work. This video will guide you through the step-by-step process I followed to create the low profile hospital plate. • You'll get an inside look at my workflow, the tools I use, and how I efficiently manage my trailer setup to work smoothly. While I used to have a welder in my trailer, I've transitioned to working mostly with composite materials.
