Louann tells us her story of growing up with family alcoholism and dysfunction. Her alcoholic father passed away when she was 7, followed by her mother at the age of 12. Feeling abandoned and suppressing memories of sexual abuse as a child, Louann carried these feelings into adulthood. In her twenties and a mother of four, Louann and her husband’s business went bankrupt. After 5 years of being sober, Louann turned to wine to help her cope. She began to work as a cocktail waitress which only fueled her desire for alcohol.
