In this Physics video lecture in Hindi we explained elastic collision in one dimension ( 1d ) for class 11 and also derived the formula / equation for final velocity of both the objects, those may be of equal mass or different masses, one might be at rest or both may move. You can easily extend this to two and three dimensions ( 2d and 3d ). • In elastic collision total momentum and total energy of the system is conserved. • we derived the formula for velocities of colliding bodies in elastic collision with the help of conservation of momentum and energy conservation. • We considered four special cases, • First case, when both the object has the same mass. In this case velocies of the bodies interchange. • Second case, the the bodies have unequal masses. • Third case, when the first body is of very large mass in comparison to the second one and the second one is at rest. Example, a truck hits a small drum. In this case, the second body, after collision, moves with twice the initial velocity of the first massive body. • Fourth acse, when a small body collides with a massive body at rest. In this case, the small one rebounds with velocity of same magnitude as of its initial velocity. • Inelastic collision - In this type of collision total momentum of the system is conserved but energy is not. Some energy is dissipated. • In perfectly inelastic collision total momentum of the system is conserved and maximum energy is lost. After collision two bodies move together sticking to each other. • ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ • Click to visit the homepage of our channel :    / @edupoint.physics   • EduPoint by Arijit Daripa
