This is a longtime favorite recipe from Ina Garten's Foolproof. I've made a few small changes to it over the years. The original recipe calls for draining the tomatoes and saving the juice for future use. The juice freezes just fine, but I always found the step a little annoying and wondered how it would turn out if you skipped the draining step. Turns out: just fine!
