COPPERHEADS! These are some of my favorite US natives and actually the first venomous snakes I ever worked with! It's always so much fun to run into nice healthy juveniles in pristine habitat where they're doing well! Copperheads are some of the less dangerous of our native venomous snakes as their bites rarely cause life-threatening circumstance, and can usually be treated with painkillers without the use of antivenom. These snakes are pitvipers meaning they have heat sensitive pits on either side of their face which aid them in hunting prey and detecting their surroundings. Do you guys like copperheads?
