The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will no longer be paying grants on the first of each month. Starting in May beneficiaries - for the disability and elderly grants - will only be able to access their grants from the 4th and 5th of each month, while beneficiaries for every other grant, will only be able to access them from the 6th of every month. SASSA had paid grants on March the 30th and 31st, falling within the lockdown period, with the first two days dedicated to the most vulnerable groups.
