So grab your sword and armor and get ready for the Top 5 damsels in distress! • 5. Bandage Girl - Super Meat Boy • One of our favorite indie darlings is Super Meat Boy. In the story of this platformer Meat Boy needs to safe his girlfriend Bandage Girl from the grasp of the evil Doctor Fetus. This simple story is a throw back to the early days of video games and level after level Meat Boy must try to reach Bandage Girl, 300 times in a row. • 4. Marian - Double Dragon series • Talking about old school games and ladies that need help, we need to mention poor Marion. She get's a hard punch in the stomach after which she's kidnapped by the Black Warriors. After that it's time for the brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee to safe their love interest by punching enemies IN THE FACEEEE! • 3. Zelda - The Legend of Zelda series • The game series might be named after her, but it's Link who has to do all the dirty work. Zelda isn't completely useless since she has some magical powers but that doesn't stop Ganondorf from capturing her time after time. Link doesn't seem to mind too much though as it gives him a great excuse to go out adventuring in the beautiful Hyrule. • 2. Pauline - Donkey Kong • Back in the days when Mario was still known as Jumpman he had to save his girlfriend from the evil claws of Donkey Kong. Stage after stage the player had to jump barrels in an effort to save Pauline from Kong's grasp. All this damsel in distress could do was cry for help and hope Player One would safe her. • 1. Peach - Super Mario Bros. • After the relationship with Pauline ended, Mario started dating Peach. Since that moment it's the same story in every Super Mario game. Bowser captures Peach and Mario has to come to the rescue... but the princess is in another castle! In the last few years we've seen Rosalina enter the stage as the princess who needed help, but ever since the mid eighties Peach is still the number one damsel in distress.
