First, in order to bias the lats, you want to keep a nice upright posture with very little back and forth movement, and control the way down with a 1-2 second pause at the bottom. Think of driving your elbows down and into your sides and only raise your arms up until your lats are stretched. Because as soon as you extend your shoulders like this, you are now working much more of the mid and upper back as you can see in this second technique. Here we are much more explosive, using a bit more back and forth movement, without any pause at the bottom. For this technique, think of driving your elbows as far down as possible, while puffing up your chest to retract your scapula. And, to work even more of your upper back, simply utilize a bit more swing to turn this into more of a row, ideally with a little bit more control than I was using here, I was just getting pretty fatigued, and really let your back fully stretch out at the top with a super large range of motion. • Follow me on social media: • INSTAGRAM: / maxeuceda7 • TIKTOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@maxeuceda7?la... • BEACONS: https://beacons.ai/maxeuceda7 • About Me: I started lifting at 17 years old in 2019, the summer before I entered my freshman year of college. I was a mere 120 pounds at 5'8, and my only goal was to gain weight. Since then I've bulked 5 times, reaching my heaviest at 206 pounds, and cut 4 times to a lowest of around 10% bodyfat. In 2025 I plan to compete in my first natural bodubuilding show. Using the knowledge I have acquired and continue to learn, my goal is to help all of you achieve your fitness goals and prove that no matter what stands in your way, hard work and consistency will always prevail!
