This is a video to demonstrate the effectiveness of phosphate when added upstream of any oxidation in potable drinking applications. You will note that polyphosphate effectively prevents oxidation of iron in the water due to its ability to tie up both iron and manganese. In addition, phosphate has the ability to pull Iron out of its oxidated state. • This is why we recommend a blend for most systems, as the orthophosphate lays down a membrane of protection of metal pipes and polyphosphate ties up iron and manganese.
