The Cubanelle Pepper is a popular substitute for both Banana Peppers and Bell Peppers. • The Cubanelle Pepper has a thicker flesh than a Banna Pepper yet a thinner flesh than a Bell Pepper. They can be used as any other sweet mild pepper with a Scoville rating of 100-1000. • They can be grown in a container (5 gallon minimum recommended) which yields a pepper shape akin to a Banana Pepper. • The Cubanelle Pepper can be grown in the ground, too, yielding both a Banana Pepper shape and a Bell Pepper shape. Fertilize these peppers as you would a typical tomato plant. When planting in the ground give at least 18 inches between plants, though a full 24 inches or 2 feet is recommended or a little over half a meter on the metric system. • Whether in the ground or in a pot, the Cubanelle Pepper yields a variety of color from yellow to green to orange to red. Let them ripen for a rainbow effect. • 00:00 The Cubanelle Pepper • 00:06 The Cubanelle Pepper Compared to a Banana Pepper • 00:30 The Cubanelle Pepper Compared to a Bell Pepper • LINKS: • General Wiki: https://bit.ly/wiki_cubanellepepper • Recipes: https://bit.ly/recipes_thespruce • Not affiliated with the below.
