Explains how to determine the direction and magnitude of the electric field from charged particles. You can see a listing of all my videos at my website, http://www.stepbystepscience.com • An electric field is an area that surrounds an electric charge, and exerts force on other charges in the field, attracting or repelling them. Electric field is abbreviated as E-field. Electric fields are created by electric charges. The electric is defined by the number of newtons of force per coulomb of charge. • The SI unit for electric field strength is volt per meter (V/m) or Newtons per coulomb (N/C) is also used as a unit of electric field strength. On an atomic scale, the electric field is responsible for the attractive force between the atomic nucleus and electrons that holds atoms together, and the forces between atoms that cause chemical bonding. Electric fields and magnetic fields are both manifestations of the electromagnetic force, one of the four fundamental forces of nature. • Link for sharing this video: • Electric Field (1 of 3) An Explanation • Support my channel by doing all of the following: • (1) Subscribe, get all my physics, chemistry and math videos • (2) Give me a thumbs up for this video • (3) Leave me a positive comment • (4) Share is Caring, sharing this video with all of your friends
