In the first episode star actors of the Theatre Mír, mainly the remarkable group Three Tigers, accompanied by their colleagues from Prague, namely Jiří Langmajer, Adéla Gondíková, Jana Bernášková, Rudolf Merkner and Michal Suchánek. Mr.Suchánek also worked on the screenplay. The plot reflects the current situation of theatres and their actors, who found themselves incomeless in a blink of an eye. We follow fictious story inspired by the Theatre Mír mentioned earlier, which was the first theatre in Czech Republic to start live streams on YouTube when the first lockdown went in force in the country. During those streams the audience could support the theatre by donating to their “virtual Mír hat”. • “For the viewers, it might be hard to understand the situation we found ourselves in. Just our fixed expenses and mortage instalments alone amount to 400 000 CZK (aprox. 15 000€) per month. At the same time, we had to refund about 2 million CZK (approx. 77 000€) in ticket sales due to cancelled shows,” says Albert Čuba, actor and the owner of Theatre Mír in Ostrava. “We couldn’t just sit and watch the theatre go bankrupt. That is why we have been regularily streaming this past month and a half and why we did not hesitate, when Vladimír Skórka approached us with this idea, which helps to raise money not only for our theatre,” adds Čuba. Both Čuba and his colleague from Mír, Štěpán Kozub, worked with Skórka on the succesful online series Line. • “Shooting a series like this under normal circumstances would mean daily costs about 300 000 CZK (approx. 11 500€). And that is without the cost of screenplay and follow-up post-production, advertisment and without other expenses. But in case of this project, everyone worked for free and I’d like to say thank you to the whole crew for that. Michal Suchánek also helped writing the screenplay. If viewers like the first episode and donate enough money to not only support the actors, but also to fund the production, we are ready to shoot more episodes,” tells us Vladimír Skórka, who also mentiones that viewers are encouraged to leave their suggestions for the future of the plot in comments bellow.
