The Bible is full of examples of God’s promises, magnificent power, love, grace and mercy. God knows us better than we know ourselves and He knows what’s going to happen to us in the future. God knows! Like a loving Father, God wants the best for us and wants us to succeed. God already planned our lives, since before we were even conceived but still gives us room to move around and the freedom to make our own choices. Sometimes we want things done a certain way or we want a certain outcome, we want God to rule in our favor, but if things don’t happen in our timeline we get impatient. Well, God has his timeline, He doesn’t need our help or input to get things done. Sometimes (if not all the time), we pull an Eve or Sarah move. We think we know what should be done and go for it, but we end up messing things up. God told Adam and Eve to not eat from a specific tree, but after being tempted, Eve decided to go for it because she wanted to be as smart as God after eating from the tree but it backfired. God told Abraham and Sarah that they would have a baby, but Sarah got impatient and didn’t think she would ever get pregnant and got her servant to sleep with Abraham and the servant got pregnant and now we have a hot potato in our hands. Pride is the root in these two situations, they thought they knew better, they thought they could pull it off, but that’s not what God wanted in the first place. God in his mercy rerouted both situations and still made it work, but He didn’t need them to do anything. God needed them to obey and trust Him. We need to pipe down and sit down and let go and let God because God knows best.
