M70 AK Night Sights Replacing Tritium Vials

Showing how to replace the tritium vials on the flip-up night sights for the Zastava M70AB2 AK-47 rifle, imported by Century Arms. This rifle is made up of mostly military surplus parts and is chambered in 7.62x39. One of the cool features to this AK variant is the flip-up night sites that are integrated into the standard AKM iron sights. Unfortunately tritium has a half-life and has lost the ability to glow over the years. Fortunately they are fairly easy to replace if you are able to find some tritium vials sized 1.5x6 mm. • Find Tritium vials and more ▶ https://amzn.to/3giSsJL • The Serbian Zastava M70 tritium vials are fairly easy to remove. You can push them out with a small paperclip from either side of the sight base. You will want to be careful to avoid breaking the old vials of tritium. If you do, there is no serious health concern with the amount of tritium that is released. • Once the old tritium vials are removed, you can insert the new vials the opposite way they came out. After the new tritium vials are installed, seal the vial insert location on both end's of the sight base. You can use a black silicone or something similar to keep them from falling out. The process I use is a bit more tedious, but gives you an authentic Yugo m70 sight system. • If you want an easier method for putting night sights on any AK-47 rifle or pistol, consider replacing the factory iron sights with an aftermarket AK night sight set.
