GMC’s Terrain AT4 is an interesting addition to the already crowded and hyper competitive crossover SUV market. Its all black trim styling with shadow chrome effect gives it a nice aggressive look, but the chrome accents actually pop a lot more in the all-white iteration. Like many other of its kind, this crossover/compact SUV is marketed as a gateway to a new life as an outdoors-person. Friends. Campfires. Driving on the beach. “Adventure is out there: get after it” is GMC’s slogan to promote the Terrain as a lifestyle choice vehicle. With 7.9” of ground clearance, you could do some light off-roading with it, but you’re better off keeping this SUV on the streets. You can hit a dusty trail, no sweat. Just don’t take it rock crawling like you would a jacked up Jeep. • Ergonomic prowess is not GMC’s forte. The door’s side panels barely fit a conventional water bottle, while that middle section under the center console doesn’t hold a newer model smartphone. Bummer. It also loses out in price battle to some other slightly superior vehicles • The 1.5L turbo 4 170 horsepower engine is actually a downgrade from the 2.0L 252 horsepower turbo 4 it used to offer as an option, and so the GMC does feel a little underpowered in the engine department. • The Terrain’s base M.S.R.P. is also a little overpriced when compared to the Toyota Rav-4, Mazda CX-50, and Honda CR-V. • Subscribe: / @hotcars • Our Social Media: • / hotcars.official • / hotcars.official • / @hotcars • • Our Website • https://www.hotcars.com • Written by: Jake Stumph • Hosted by: Jake Stumph • Edited by: Jean Bernard • For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected]
