Traktor DJ for iPad deep house mix

/ cheefdj • So this video was a very spur of the moment thing, especially given that it Traktor DJ was only released 24 hours ago. I decided I felt like having a bash at a mix, so I was set up and recording within about 15 minutes. So there's no planning involved here, no track prep, I just grabbed some of my current fave deep tracks and this is the result. There are a couple of 'rough around the edges' bits, but it gives those who are interested a feel for its capabilities, so please treat it as such. My personal main gripe, is a lack of a loop size selection button. NI could have added this as a button next to the freeze / hot cues -hopefully it'll come in a future update. • I think that Traktor DJ is very polished, I'm actually pleasantly surprised at Native Instruments' implementation, and whilst there's room for improvement it really is a very solid first-version birth. • Give me pots over a touch surface any day, there's a couple of issues whereby you just cant be as accurate with the cross fader as sometimes necessary (for example, you set a position, lift off, but it moves because of how your finger touches the screen), but maybe we'll get more comfortable with the little quirks over time. • There's a point in the video where the beat grid is off. Adjusting on the fly is easy enough, albeit a bit tricky and again you're at the mercy of the screen + finger + lift-off issue again. • Anyway, hope you enjoy the video. • • FOR INFO ON HOW TO EXTRACT THE RECORDED .WAV FILE FROM YOUR IPAD: Connect iPad to iTunes.
