19900V Power Line Arcing off a Tree

oui oh OH DEAR 11:14 • Well this happened! • The powerline arced 6 times, I got 4 of them in this video! • This is a 19kv single phase span off of the main 19/35kv lines for my town, no fuse from the main lines to this pole and there is one full tension span and one low tension span on this line. • The arcs didn't last very long since there's a recloser just down the road that kept tripping. • That's why the arcs stopped while the branch was still on the wire. • This is the first time I've seen a powerline arcing in person! • 0:00-0:52 my first reaction to the damaged wire • 0:53-1:07 1st arc • 1:35-1:45 2nd arc • 2:33-2:40 3rd arc • 3:51-4:04 4th arc • 6:00-7:00 opening the cutout and disconnecting the tap • 7:01-7:31 lineman trimming the tree • 7:32-7:59 lineman removing damaged lightning arrestor • 8:00-9:59 connecting tap and closing in cutout • 10:00-10:10 getting the lightning arrestor • 10:11-10:40 pictures of the lightning arrestor • 10:41-11:14 slowmos • 11:15-11:29 oui oh, oh dear • I don't want this in a compilation without my permission, ask to use this!
