2024 Circleville Pumpkin Show edit

On this Extra, I went away from Columbus OH, to the 2024 Circleville Pumpkin Show. https://www.pumpkinshow.com/ • This has been going on for 117 years and is billed as The Greatest Free Show on Earth! I hadn't been to Circleville since 1986, and I was accompanied by my niece and nephew (my niece drove us there). It is open from 10AM to 10PM today and tomorrow (it started on Wednesday, 10/16). It is a fantastic show, with rides, parades, displays, food vendors that IMO rival the Ohio State Fair Midway, a pony ride and of course, pumpkins. LOTS of pumpkins. • Let me tell you though, if you go (and I'd certainly recommend it for the family), be prepared to find a parking space. People along the road to the event offer parking spaces for a fee; I saw people offering parking for $10-$15. Some parked near the event; We parked under a bridge along with a few other cars. Didn't cost anything, and it was less than 10 minutes away from the main thoroughfare on N. Court St. • Also, expect LOTS of visitors. You'll see in my video how crowded it can get. And a considerable amount of this video is dedicated to the parade. Bands from schools all over the county participate, as well as floats from area churches, organizations and vehicles can be seen. Circleville is a city, but the parade just reminded me of a small-town feel. I grew up in a small town (Groveport), and looking at this parade, I really enjoyed the feel. • So check it out; You'll really enjoy yourself, and the family will, too!
