In this skip trowel drywall texture tutorial video i'm going to show you the materials needed to mix a skip trowel texture with a Dewalt 20V cordless drill, paint mixing paddle and a special grit of silica sand.You will need to mix it all together to a thick pancake batter like consistency. • Next, I'll show you some of my skip trowel texture technique on how to apply a skip trowel texture using my 14 inch drywall taping knife and hawk. I also have a pretty nifty scooper that I used to get the skip trowel texture mix out of a 5 gallon bucket with. • This is a ceiling project where I did a ceiling crack repair and then did two skim coats over a popcorn ceiling before applying the skip trowel texture.
