Terrified Puppy Mill Rescue Bites and Potties Out of Fear

We don’t often show you this type of footage because it’s a little bit hard to watch. • Peace, named for our hope for her, is a five-year-old Shih Tzu who arrived on our last rescue. Peace was abjectly terrified due to her past experiences. • Prior to this video, she had already bitten Glenn, our Behavior and Training Manager, as well as fear defecated and urinated. These are all signs of extreme fear. • • Watch her reaction as Glenn slowly tries to pick her up. Though hard to watch, this must be done to begin to desensitize her to kind human touch. • Watch as the dates of work progress and how much growth she makes in just a few days of hands on work and kindness. Though she bit at a team member’s sleeve just prior to the last video, you can see she is really beginning to trust and truly find peace. • Our dogs sometime have a lot to overcome, but they are resilient and will push through to the happy side of life.
