UPDATE (July 2021) - Since I made this video, the problem happened again. The good thing is that the same fix solved it. What this means is that the solder will continue to break. In the video, there's a point where I solder two parts back together. Instead of doing that, I recommend replacing the solder with a small wire. Wire the two ends that used to be soldered together. In my case I soldered the back of the power plug receptacle to a wire, and soldered the wire back to the board. What this does is allows the power part to move around (because clearly it does) without breaking the connection to the board. This is effectively what causes the problem. I suspect I will not have to make this fix again. I'm sorry the video is so long, but it is a legitimate fix. • • My Mars Pro II started acting funny. It wouldn't start up immediately, and I had to wiggle the power connector to get it to turn on. Eventually it got worse and worse. The only way it would turn on if if I plugged in the power button and wiggled either the HDMI cable (if I used it) or the power cable until it turned on. At that point it would try starting up for 15-30 seconds, never actually start, and then the startup process would start all over again, over and over. • I took it apart and found a soldered connection point to the power connector was broken. I resoldered it to fix it. This video documents this process. • Link to images I found online where the projector is deconstructed into parts. This helped me figure out how to take the projector apart: • https://fccid.io/2AOKB-D2322/Internal...
