Causes of Bullying: • What makes a bully can be complex, and can include a number of factors. Some people even find themselves being occasional bullies without even realizing it. While there is no one reason that a person turns into a bully, there are come common factors in many cases. A common misconception is that bullies have low self-esteem. On the contrary, a study from UCLA found that most bullies have “almost ridiculously high self-esteem”. The same study showed that bullies are often popular in school, and their victims are often unpopular. This can make the pain of bullying even more brutal. However, both bullies and victims are simply playing roles, neither is a fixed personality quality. Bullies can learn to stop being bullies, and victims can also stop being victims. • Why Bully?School is supposed to be a safe haven for children. They should never fear walking the halls or playing on the playground because someone is hell-bent on making their lives miserable. Even still, when kids go home, they should be able to leave the drama of the school day behind. Unfortunately this is not the case. With the rise in Internet use, more and more kids are logging into their social media accounts just to find someone from their school has posted humiliating things about them. • How does bullying usually begin? Many parents of teenage bullies ask themselves how their offspring could be capable of such abusive behaviors. They always want to know if the parents, the teenager, society or biology are to blame. There are various underlying causes to a bully’s behavior, often rooted in the anxiety of being adolescent, but at other times this behavior can spring from a traumatic experience, pressure from friends, faulty parenting styles, or any intricate combination of these dynamics. Bullying is done in most cases to increase feeling of personal power of the person doing the bullying. The need for the reassurance for personal abilities that makes degrading someone else such an easy fix. • In 2009, a study was conducted to explore rates and instances of bullying in schools. It revealed that around 15 to 25 percent of all students were shown to be victims of bullying, and 15 to 20 percent engaged in bullying others often (“Bullying statistics 2009,” n.d.).Bullying occurs when someone uses force and intimidation to manipulate someone else. It’s all about power, and it is seen a lot within younger age groups. • Read more on the causes of bullying on these articles: • https://nobullying.com/what-are-the-c... • https://nobullying.com/common-causes-... • https://nobullying.com/teenagers-bull... • https://nobullying.com/how-to-define-... • Connect with NoBullying.com today - • Our website - https://nobullying.com/ • Facebook -   / nobullyingdo.  . • Twitter -   / nobullying14   • Pinterest -   / nobullying   • Google Plus - https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/1053235... • Linkedin -   / nobu.  . • Also check out some of NoBullying.com's most popular articles: • https://nobullying.com/apps-to-hide-t... • https://nobullying.com/disney-trivia • https://nobullying.com/cyber-bullying... • https://nobullying.com/common-causes-... • https://nobullying.com/bullying-suici... • https://nobullying.com/trivia-questio... • https://nobullying.com/the-effects-of... • https://nobullying.com/how-to-tell-if... • https://nobullying.com/what-are-the-c... • https://nobullying.com/stories-of-7-t... • https://nobullying.com/are-you-bullie... • About NoBullying: • Nobullying.com is an online forum aimed at educating, advising, counselling and all importantly, helping to stop bullying, in particular, cyber bullying. This website started as a social responsibility project for us, but through the support of a community of parents, educators and teenagers – it has grown into one of the biggest anti bullying and online safety websites in the world.
