If you're poor and a woman in certain parts of rural India, daily life can be hard enough. But for thousands of women there is an additional burden: the fear of being branded a witch. You read that right. • In the last 14 years, according to several reports, more than 2,000 women have been tortured and killed on suspicion of being witches – blamed for everything from a bad crop to a child's illness.
