The story follows Alley Oates (Deborah Rose), a troubled psychic, who, alongside her detective partner Jersey Callum (Ed Nelson), becomes entangled in a macabre child-murder investigation. Their search leads them to a daunting mortuary, run by Chen (Robert Yun Ju Ahn), who harbors a dark secret. He claims the mummified remains found are not human children but ancient demons, kyoshi, sustained through centuries by human sacrifices. When Chen is imprisoned, the starved demons awaken, transforming the mortuary into a nightmarish trap. The staff, including Oates and Callum, are besieged by these malevolent entities, which possess and grotesquely mutate bodies, including that of morgue attendant Mrs. Poopinplatz (Phyllis Diller) and her poodle.
