Democrats remembered the late Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. in a tribute on the final night of the Democratic National Convention Aug. 20. Lewis, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer, was a civil rights icon who fought for racial justice throughout his life. The tribute to Lewis was followed by a performance of “Glory” by singer John Legend and rapper Common. The coronavirus pandemic upended both parties’ traditional conventions. Instead of in-person. events, the DNC program each night features a number of speakers and musical performances virtually across the country. • Stream your PBS favorites with the PBS app: https://to.pbs.org/2Jb8twG • Find more from PBS NewsHour at https://www.pbs.org/newshour • Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://bit.ly/2HfsCD6 • Follow us: • Facebook: http://www.pbs.org/newshour • Twitter: / newshour • Instagram: / newshour • Snapchat: @pbsnews • Subscribe: • PBS NewsHour podcasts: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/podcasts • Newsletters: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/subscribe
