She had so many things in her mind and her restlessness was at a peak. There was an old ghost story she had heard as a kid and it was about a haunted sidewalk, which still gave her the creeps. Sara shrugged it off and decided to take a different route. There were ghosts alright but of prehistoric times because there was litter all over the sidewalk. The road was finally clear and she had the street to herself. As she walked she felt a gust of wind which sent chills down her spine. • With each step, she could hear the restless whispers of past memories, begging her to stop and rethink her choices: “The world is a charade, and that is how it always will be.” Touching her necklace for comfort, Sara noticed an unsettling stillness in the air. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her ankle and stumbled, losing her balance.
