The is a part of Measure and Integration http://www.maths.unsw.edu.au/~potapov... • The Three Lines Lemma is a version of Maximum Principle of Complex Analysis for an unbounded strip on the complex plane. The lemma is a versatile tool helping to prove a range of different inequalities in analysis. • Here, I demonstrate the method by re-proving the Holder inequality for p-summable functions via this lemma. The proof is first given for a restrictive class of p-summable functions. The restrictions are removed via standard approximation mechanism and Fatou's Lemma (see the my following comments).
