DIY A4 sextant

Build your own sextant (celestial navigation instrument) • This A4 sized design ends up with radius about 17 cm, which is enough to read minutes ( +-10' ). • Print on inkjet or laser printer • The configuration is different from most sextants in that the Vernier scale is on top of the main arc scale. Normally the Vernier is underneath, attached to the arm. • To read the minutes part, first estimate from A tick position into the degree, • than find the tick on the Vernier that matches with the tick on the main arc. • Two 60' Verniers side-by-side allows reading high angles.
