A small but relatively rare dinosaur tooth of a Dromaeosaurus albertensis from the Judith River Formation in Hill County, Montana, United States. While often overshadowed by it's more famous relatives like Velociraptor, Deinonychus, and Utahraptor, Dromaeosaurus is the first genus of dromaeosaurid or raptor theropod to be described. The teeth of Dromaeosaurus can be distinguished from the contemporary Saurornitholestes as well as small Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus by the strong twist in the mesial carinae that often lacks serrations or denticles. While a mesial twist can also be seen in tyrannosaurids, it is much more pronounced and exaggerated in Dromaeosaurus. • #dromaeosaurus #velociraptor #utahraptor #dinosaur #fossil
