How to Protect your interior carpet while offroading

I've been struggling to find some way to keep the carpet from getting muddy where my boots touch the carpet. I could find no floor mats that cam up high enough to keep my fee off. I settled on this carpet tape ? Kinda hard to work with but seemed to do a very good job.
