For their golden wedding anniversary, i.e. the 50th wedding day, a couple from Bavaria asks for the bridal waltz , also known as the ice waltz . Of course the group Tiroler Tanzbod'nmusig gladly fulfills this wish. • Waltzes have a high value in Austrian folk music. Besides the probably most famous one, the Danube Waltz, there are numerous regional interpretations for the couple dance in three-four time. The origin of the ice waltz probably lies in the 19th century.
