Follow these four steps below to share or send a file through the chat window during a Zoom meeting. • Step 1: • Open the chat window by clicking the chat icon circled in the picture below. The chat icon is located on the bottom of the screen in the center. The chat window will open on the right side of the screen or in a separate pop-up window if you are in fullscreen mode. • Step 2: • Choose who to share a file to. You can share a file to everyone in the meeting or just a specific person if the Zoom host's meeting settings allow for it. If you want to send a file to one person, locate and click on the everyone button on the bottom left hand side of the chat window (pictured below). • A drop-down box will appear with a list of people you can choose to send a file to (pictured below). Find the name of the person you want to share a file with and click on their name. • Step 3: • Locate and click on the File button. The File button is located on the bottom right hand side of the chat window as shown in the picture below. Click on the File button. • Step 4: • Choose where to share a file from and pick a file. After clicking on File , a box with options will pop up as shown in the picture below. You can share a file from one of the locations in this box. If you chose to share a file from a location other than Your Computer , such as Google Drive, you may need to follow steps to connect your Zoom account to the other account before choose a file to share. Pick a file from your computer and send it through the chat. You have now successfully shared a file through the chat window during a live Zoom meeting.
