#radicularcyst #periapicalcyst • Radicular cyst also known as periapical cyst or apical periodontal cyst arises around the apex of a non-vital tooth. Its the most common inflammatory odontogenic cyst which simply means that the cyst arises as a result of progressive inflammation of the pulp of a tooth into its periapical area which causes subsequent stimulation of some cells around the apex of a tooth. These stimulated cells leading to the origination of the cyst are the epithelial rests of malassez which are the remnants of hertwigs epithelial root sheath left after root of a tooth is completely formed. The source of inflammation of the pulp most frequently is a carious lesion but trauma or defective restorations could also be a cause of pulpal inflammation of a tooth but the carious lesion being the most common etiological cause for a radicular cyst. • Video (diagrams+editing) Voiceover: • Dr.Maryam Kazman • Become a Patreon and Get Exclusive Rewards: •   / dentalmaniak   • Donate Here: • https://www.gofundme.com/f/dental-man... • Join me on facebook: • https://www.facebook.com/dentalmaniak... • instagram:  / dentalmaniak
