A review of a pre-Vatican II Catholic family Bible published by J.J. Little Ives in 1960. Two translations are featured in this volume: The Douay version as revised by Challoner in the middle of the eighteenth century, and that of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. Both are based on a Latin source text. • The paper is thick, opaque, and matte. The print is large and usually dark. References are included, along with a few explanatory footnotes.
