Saptami Bengali Fish egg Curry

Recipe : • Ingredients : • 200g Fish eggs (Rohu/rui) • 2 tbsp Besan(gram flour) • 1/4 tsp salt • 1/4 cup chopped onion • 1 tsp chopped green chilies • 1/4 tsp turmeric • Mix everything together and then deep fry the fish balls until golden brown. You can eat them as they are or cook them in stews like this one • Stew : • 250g potato (curry cut) • 2 large onion thinly sliced • 2 cardamom pods • 2 red chilies • 1 bay leaf • 2 tsp Ginger cumin seed paste • 2 medium tomatoes • 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili powder • 1/2 tsp coriander powder • 1/2 tsp turmeric • 1 tsp sugar • 1/2 tsp salt • 2 tsp Poppy seed • 2 tsp melon seeds • 1 tbsp Cashews • Make a paste out of the seeds after soaking them in hot water. • in a pan add oil. Heat it and fry the potatoes until the skin is lightly golden. and then take it out and add cardamom, bay leaf and dry red chilies • after 30 seconds of tempering, add in the sliced onion and fry till soft and caramelised. After 2 mins, add the ginger and cumin paste and continue to caramelise on low heat • add tomatoes and powdered spices. Along with sugar and salt. Mix thoroughly and cook till tomatoes are soft • Add the seed paste into this mixture. And cook on medium heat until the oil separates. Give it a good stir once in a while so that it does not stick to the pan. • add in the fried potatoes. Add water and let the potatoes get soft. This takes around 30 mins • Add the fried fish fritters as well and cook on high heat for 12 mins. Add salt if required. • #serve hot with steamed rice. • All my love to you❤️
